Toby Whithouse Interview: New Vampire Character Will Replace Mitchell & More Info

During ComicCon 2011, SFX.co.uk interviewed Being Human creator and writer Toby Whithouse. He discussed the upcoming season and gave the following bits of information:
  • They've created 'a new vampire character' that we will meet in episode 1 and will 'come into the house' in episode 2
  • There is a 'fantastic' 'new actor' playing that role.
  • There will  be a 'new chemistry' inside the house.
  • The old vampire we met at the end of Series 3 will play a 'huge' role in Series 4
  • We will actually meet the 'old ones' towards the end of Series 4
  • There is going to be a new supernatural creature (at the moment, this may change in the final episode)
  • The new creature isn't a troll, but if Whithouse could make it work, he would do it
The video interview can be watched on the SFX website.

Being Human Series 4 Production Begins in Barry

The residents of the town of Barry have welcomed back the cast and crew of Being Human UK, as they return to the location to begin filming for Series 4.

Cast and crew from BBC supernatural drama Being Human are back in the town to film the fourth series of the cult hit, after basing themselves here for the third series last year.
And Barry resident Gary Rowe has once again welcomed them all into his home, which earlier this year featured on screen as the main characters’ guesthouse of choice.
Mike Gallivan, 3rd assistant director on Being Human series two, three, and now four, said: "I think series three was our strongest. Barry accepted us and we couldn't have picked a better place to go.
"We are very excited about series four. There is so much going on I don't know where to start.

Being Human US Producer Promises 'A Way Different Path' for Season 2

Those who watched both UK's Being Human Series 1 and Being Human Season 1 in the US probably couldn't help but notice the very many similarities to each version and its counterpart. Various scenes and situations were merely repeated and not original to the new US "reimagining" of the show. Many fans were wondering if this trend would be repeated in Season 2 and executive producer Jeremy Carver has an answer.
The original British Being Human is getting ready for its fourth season (or "series" as the Brits call it), and in its first season, the American version was, in some cases, a scene-for-scene remake. "This year, we'll see that we're striking on a way different path," promises American executive producer Jeremy Carver. "We're laying down our own framework here."
Carver also stated that the new season will feature "new types of werewolves, vampires and ghosts".

First Look at Season 2 of Being Human US at Comic-Con

The stars of Being Human US recently took part in a panel at Comic Con, which is taking place in San Diego right now. They shared some information about their characters' development in the upcoming season, as well as shared a few laughs with the audience. The Hollywood Reporter has an article on their site about the panel.
Josh is "stronger and he's more in tune with who he is. His relationship with Norah has developed in very interesting ways," Huntington continued.
Sally, played by Meaghan Rath, said her character (a ghost) has learned "more about who she is in her death than she's ever had in her life. We leave off three weeks after we stopped."
Sam Witwer's Aidan, whose "father figure" Bishop is no longer around, "has been strugglign with going clean," Witwer said. "He had this father figure [for 200-plus years and] at the end of the season, Aidan frees himself from that. If youre trying to get off what is essentially a drug habit," which means staying away from the vampires, it proves to be difficult.
E! Online has posted the video reel shown during the panel to attendees of Comic Con. Most of the video is a recap of the events in Season 1, although there is a short sneak peek of what to expect in 2012 at the very end. You can watch that video below.
