Note: The following bios contain spoilers regarding the plot.

Featuring:

Mitchell (Series 1-3) - Mitchell is always at odds with himself as he struggles to deny the hunger inside of him for human blood. He befriended George and together they moved into a house haunted by the spirit of their landlord's murdered girlfriend, Annie. George spared Mitchell endless pain by staking him at the end of Series 3.

Mitchell is played by Aidan Turner. He will not be appearing in Series 4 due to filming commitments with The Hobbit in which he will play one of the dwarves. Series writer Toby Whithouse has said in the past that Mitchell could be shown in the future in flashbacks due to the nature of the show.

George - The least secure of all his housemates, George lives a strange double life. Most of the time he can just be normal person, but every full moon he is forced to undergo a painful transformation into a murderous werwolf. George's secret makes his life extremely difficult. He was forced to run away from his family when he was first turned, although he later meets them again in Series 3. He turned Nina into a wolf and they rely on each other for support.

Annie - Initially bound to this world due to the unresolved nature of her death (she was killed by her boyfriend when she was tossed down the stairs), Annie has defied "the door" and the other side many times to stick with her friends and support them. Annie is ever-optimistic and always looks on the bright side. She loves to make tea.

Annie is played by Lenora Crichlow.

Nina - Nina is the newest to the world of the supernatural, since she was (accidentally) scratched by George at the end of Series 1. Nina struggles to live with her new condition, but she has George for support. In Series 2, she mistakenly believed that their was a cure for her condition which led to disastrous consequences for the roommates. By Series 3, Nina has come to terms with her problem, but things become more complicated when she realizes that she is pregnant with George's baby after one of their transformations together.

Herrick - Herrick is introduced as the vampire leader and police officer in Series 1. After Mitchell decides to stay off human blood, Herrick attempts to get him back with the "program" again. At the end of Series 1, George transforms into a werewolf and Herrick is beheaded, after he is tricked into facing George instead of Mitchell. At the end of Series 2, a ritual is performed and Herrick is raised from the dead. A disoriented Herrick turns up in the hospital and the housemates hide him in their attic. Gradually he remembers who he is and tries to turn them against Mitchell, but is staked (once and for all?) by Mitchell as they escape from the police.

Other Characters Worth Mentioning

Series 1

Owen - Annie's former boyfriend and George and Mitchell's landlord. It is revealed that he murdered Annie and she gets her revenge on him at the end of Series 1.

Lauren - Mitchell accidentaly turned Rebecca one night when he couldn't control his lust for blood. Lauren asks Mitchell to stake her at the end of Series 1.
Tully - George meets Tully one day after he wakes up in the morning following his transformation. They are friends until he assaults Annie and it is revealed that he was the one that turned George and killed the American tourist with him.

Series 2

Kemp - Kemp worked with Prof. Jaggart to try to "help" supernaturals. His hatred of them originates from when his wife and daughter were attacked by vampires and he was left with a blood stained Bible. Annie pulled him through the door at the end of Series 2 (so where is he now?)

Prof. Jagat (aka Lucy) - Lucy works at the hospital and falls for Mitchell. She is aware of Mitchell's vampirism and is conflicted by her attraction and work with Kemp. Kemp kills her at the end of Series 2 when she tries to reconcile with Mitchell.

Ivan & Daisy - A vampire couple that is torn apart after the explosion at the funeral home.

Series 3

Tom & McNair - A father and son team of werewolf vampire hunters. Tom believes he was a werewolf from birth, but Nina disproves this and McNair admits that he wasn't actally his son.

Adam - A middle-aged vampire (although he has the appearance of a teenager) that George meets at the hospital feeding off his parents. The housemates take him in and later he heads out on his own.
